From the prophet Zephaniah to St. Paul there is joy everywhere in today's biblical readings. We also notice that the number 1 killer of our joy is not sadness but anxiety. There was anxiety at the time in the biblical times and there is anxiety today. While we know that anxiety definitely exists, we also know that 40% of all anxiety is about things that never happen, 30% is about things that have already happened, 12% comes from fear of being criticized, 10% comes from fear of getting sick. Only 8% of all anxiety is about some real and present problem. We could some way dismiss or handle the 8%, but we do not. The gospel has a good advise how to handle anxiety: Share, Care, Dare.
