The glamor and triumph of Easter may be gone, but the beauty of Easter lingers on because Easter is not just a day, but a life. Historically, the Easter celebration began in the year 389 CE when the Roman Empire proclaimed it as public holiday, but the biblical celebration began with Jesus and will end with our death and beyond. Easter is about embracing the unknown and our limitations. There is a story about Lucy and Linus, the Peanuts Cartoon characters, who beautifully underline our human condition. "Lucy, how much is six from four?" asks Linus, as he approaches Lucy with pencil and paper in hand. Lucy, looking up from her book, says, "Six from four? You cannot subtract six from four because you cannot subtract a bigger number from a small number." Linus, who has been standing by patiently, says with apparent frustration, "You can't, if you do not know math like me." Is it not faith subtracting six from four?
