As the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, or All Souls' Day, approaches, I look forward to welcoming you as we turn to our beloved St. Pio during a sacred Mass on November 2nd.
As Christians, we understand death is not the end, but the beginning. Yes, we mourn the passing of our loved ones, but we also believe in the reality of their salvation.
St. "Padre" Pio of Pietrelcina dedicated much of his earthly life to the mission of saving souls. He spent his days encouraging people to live prayerful, vigilant lives. He reminded them that the concerns of the world must always be secondary to matters of faith.
Padre Pio famously said, "I will stand at the gates of Heaven and I will not enter until all of my spiritual children are with me." During our All Souls' Day Mass, when we pray for your dearly departed, Padre Pio assures us that all who seek God will find Him.
I will ask our brother Capuchins to intercede in Heaven on behalf of the souls of our departed loved ones. It's easy to join us in this Mass. Simply click on the button below and type the names of those whom you want us to pray for in the message box.
Rose of Remembrance
We have a long-standing tradition at the Friary...for a contribution of $25 or more, we will place a Rose of Remembrance at the altar for your departed loved ones. It is a way of saying "I have not forgotten you...I will love you always.".
